Rifle & Pistol Action Shoot

- Rifle

- Any MA legal rifle – All Rimfire and CenterFire aside from .50BMG allowed
- At least 2 magazines (no more than 10 rounds loaded per mag)
- 20 rounds of ammunition per run
- Pistol
- Any MA legal pistol – Rimfire or center fire
- At least 2 magazines (no more than 10 rounds loaded per mag)
- 20 rounds of pistol ammunition per run
- Movement
- Ability to walk / move 200 yards out and back
- Ability to transition from and shoot from multiple positions
- Course of Fire: Action matches will mainly use the 3 shooting positions of standing, kneeling, and prone. Depending on the rules of the day, the shooting position at a given stage will either be predetermined or left up to the shooter. Shooters will need 20 rounds of rifle ammunition and 20 rounds of pistol ammunition.
- Rifle: The rifle portion of the course will mostly involve the shooter working their way down the 200yd portion of the range moving from position to position usually shooting at a single target, until they reach the target they were shooting at. The last few shots are usually taken while advancing toward the target.
- Pistol: The pistol portion will involve shooting from behind some form of barricade or barrier and finish by advancing on the target. Maximum distance for pistol shooting will be around 25-30yds.
- Scoring: This is a timed event, time starts when the RSO gives the signal then the participant loads and begins the course. The time ends when the course is completed then the RSO verifies the firearms clear. Penalties will be the addition of 10 seconds for a miss on the rifle target and 5 seconds for missing a pistol target. Lowest total time will determine the winner.
